As Aircraft Maintenance is such an onerous job, with 1000’s of fliers’ safety depends on it, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has been made the authorized apex agency in the European Union (EU) and functions as the overall incharge of safety in the aviation sector.
The Agency is responsible for regulating and executing tasks regarding every aspect of civilian aviation safety. As an AME’s role is intricately linked to Aviation security, EASA has been authorized to issue an AML license only if the training upholds the stringent standards as it is undertaken at an authorized and approved EASA part-147 training center.
EASA Part-147, in turn, sets the exacting standards & templates for every of an organization that looks to set up training program and examinations under EASA Part-66. EASA also undertakes certification, regulation, and standardization. Successful completion of the training is imperative if an aspirant seeks an AME License– that is the license that enables one to certify the airworthiness of an aircraft.
Demonstrated capability needs to be shown by means of related work experience after the passing of the rigorous test conducted by EASA- (European Aviation Safety Agency) Aeronautical Society of India. EASA mandates that such licenses are granted only if the candidate is trained on EASA approved institutes.

Requirements For Training in EASA Approved Institute
As the leading EASA Approved AME Institute IIA requirements for obtaining admission in the AME courses is equally strict. It is open only to post who have completed 10th.
- The Minimum age for admission is 16 years though
- The candidate has to obtain, Admission into any Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Colleges in India if s/he is intent on entering the Part 147 Aircraft Maintenance Program.
